Disciple Bible Study

To help you become a Christian leader, St. Matthew's offers a 34-week DISCIPLE Bible Study program. Produced by the United Methodist Publishing House, DISCIPLE is a disciplined small-group Bible study program. Participants explore the Bible in-depth from Genesis to Revelation.

Disciple I:  Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study

Covering approximately 70% of the bible, this study takes participants from Genesis through Revelation prompting them to consider God’s action in their lives and ways they find meaning and purpose through discipleship. (34 weeks)  Cost for participant’s guide is $30.00. 

Disciple II:  Into the Word Into the World (Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts)This study encourages people to open themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into their particular ministry in the world by scripture and the study of it. (32 weeks) participant’s guide is $30.00.

Disciple III:  Remember Who You Are (Old Testament Prophets, Letters of Paul) This study examines the connection between memory and identity as the people of God.  Several themes weave their way through the study: the call to remember, the call to repentance, the need for renewed vision (eyes to see, ears to hear), and the place of community. (32 weeks) Cost for Participant’s guide is $30.00.

Disciple IV:  Under the Tree of Life (Old Testament Writings, John, 1,2,3 John, James, Jude, Revelation)

The phrase “under the tree of life” conveys the promise of finding shelter, security, and rest in God’s love.  In this study, the group will see the entire process of living toward final completion of rest and reward. (32 weeks) Cost for Participant’s guide is $30.00.
