As you plan for the coming school year, we want you to know what’s new. This coming school year we will be offering an additional Christian growth and formation opportunity for our elementary aged children on Monday afternoons. In addition to our music ministry opportunities (Wesley & Altar choirs and Rainbow, Praise & Chancel Ringers) we will be offering a new faith enrichment Christian education opportunity.

Faith Enrichment will use active learning methods and build on the faith stories, Biblical references and themes that appear in the music the children will be preparing in their choirs and handbell groups. Though a common theme will be shared with the music groups, the Faith Enrichment session will be designed to stand alone so that children can participate in Faith Enrichment activities on Mondays whether or not they participate in choir or bells. Monday Faith Enrichment is an optional activity. A child does not have to participate in choir or bells to be a part of Monday afternoon’s Faith Enrichment (though we hope they will). Nor do they have to be part of Faith Enrichment to sing or ring in a choir – each complements the other and stands alone. Monday’s Faith Enrichment time will include: Games, Movement, Cooking, Art, Drama, an occasional “Field Trip” and of course snacks!

The Faith Enrichment component of Monday Ministries with Children will be different from Sunday morning Sunday School. Monday’s Faith Enrichment sessions are being added to provide an additional opportunity for your child to be engaged in Christian formation and education -- particularly for those children whose sports, scouts and family schedules make Sunday morning Sunday school attendance difficult. We hope that Sunday morning Sunday school and worship will be a priority for your family. But if Sunday morning Sunday school is not possible for your child on a regular basis then please take advantage of Monday Ministries and the new Faith Enrichment component that is being added this fall.

Use the links to the left to view the Monday Ministries afternoon schedule for elementary children. We ask that you enroll for each program component that your child will attend regularly. Using the unified enrollment form link below, indicate on the form the program component(s) in which you are enrolling your child. Remember, each component complements the other AND stands alone – your child is not required to do everything. Choose what is best for your child. No child needs to stay from 2:30 to 5:30pm but for those who do, there will be meaningful and enriching programs; good and appropriate care. As in every program, volunteers are needed. If you can help with the Faith Enrichment program please indicate that on the form as well.
