Sharing our Blessings, Sharing our Gifts
St. Matthew’s UMC annual stewardship campaign is underway. Our goal is for 400 members or friends of our church to pledge their financial support to St. Matthew’s for 2009. Our theme this year is “Sharing our Blessings, Sharing our Gifts,” which asks each of us to consider the many blessings the Lord has given us and challenges us to share those many blessings with others through our gifts.
Last year 361 families pledged, and we pray that you will choose to pledge for 2009 to help ensure the financial strength of St. Matthew's and the many missions and ministries it supports. We hope to achieve our pledge goal by Sunday, October 26, 2008.
Pledge materials were mailed in mid-September to members of our church family. These materials are also available on this page below. Please return your 2009 pledge card at one of the services on the weekend of October 25- 26. If you can’t attend that weekend, return your pledge information to the church office or place it in our offering plate during any worship service prior to October 26. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and support.
Over the next few weeks, please take time to read, study, and pray over these materials. Our church is asking you to grow as a steward and make a generous commitment to the 2009 annual mission and ministry budget.
Why Pledge?
Check out our PowerPoint presentation on why your gift is so important to the health of our church. We need your support in order to plan for our 2009 mission, worship and church programs.
In Christ, all things are possible! We look forward to reporting to you the success of this campaign!

Stewardship Desserts: The Stewardship Commission will be hosting Stewardship Desserts to be held during the period of October 6-23. Some of Desserts will be held at St. Matthew’s; others at the homes of church members. Babysitting will be provided at the church. After dessert, Rev. Jackson or Rev. Monroe will give a “Stewardship Campaign” presentation on what happens to the dollars you give each year to St. Matthew’s. This will be followed by a time for questions. See the schedule for when you might like to attend.
