New Church Pictorial Directory: Olan Mills will produce a new pictorial directory for our congregation. Photography will take place at the church July 6-10 and July 27-31. Weekday hours are 2:00-9:30 PM; Saturday hours are 9:30 AM-5:30 PM. Please make an appointment that suits your family's schedule. You will be photographed and sent the proofs immediately. Between now and May 28 you may make your appointment on line by going to www.signup.olanmills.com. The password is the church's phone number. Sign-up sheets will be available at the church from May 29 through June 27. After that date all families who have not made an appointment will be contacted by phone to help them set a convenient time and date. Everyone who has made an appointment will receive a reminder call the day before their appointment to help make sure the appointment is not forgotten. We are counting on everyone to participate so our directory will be complete and useful both for existing members and for those who join us in the future. Each participating family will receive a free directory and a free Olan Mills 8 x 10 of their favorite pose. There is no obligation to purchase additional portraits, although you may if you wish. Handbell Workshop 2010: Children, August 23-27, 9:00 AM-Noon, Cost: $30.00, for all children entering grades 3-6 this fall, regardless of their musical or handbell experience. Youth & Adults, August 23-26, 7:00-9:00 PM, Cost: $30.00, for youth and adults who are beginning to ring or who wish to refresh their handbell techniques. Youth Music Retreat: Hallowood Retreat Center, Comus, MD. The Chapel Choir (grades 7-12) will leave St. Matthew's at 8 AM on Saturday, September 4. They will sing, rehearse our new musical, play games, have skits and good food at Camp Hallowood in Comus, MD. The cost is $100 for one youth and $85 for the second and third youth in a family. They will return at noon on Sunday. The Carol and Celebration Ringers will have their retreat beginning at noon on Sunday, September 5, and will return at 4 PM on Monday, September 6. The cost is $100 for one youth and $85 for the sec-ond and third youth in a family. If a youth is staying for both the Chapel Choir Retreat and the Carol/Celebration Ringers Retreat, the cost is $185 for the first youth and $175 for the second and third youth in a family. 2010 Men’s Retreat: September 18-19 at Capon Springs. Cool, healing spring waters, fishing, tennis, golf, great food, and a time for relaxation and spiritual renewal; what more could you ask for? Come join us for this year’s Men’s Retreat, September 18-19. This fall we are returning to Capon Springs and Farms, only 90 minutes away but a completely relaxing journey back to a simpler time. Ask any of the men who attended last year’s retreat about this wonderful experience surrounded by God’s glorious creation and in fellowship with a supportive group. Prayer in the Chapel: The chapel is available for prayer throughout the day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, or on Sunday from 8 AM-1 PM. You are welcome to come and pray.
