- Join the Ushering Ministry: Looking for an easy way to get involved at St. Matthews? Be an usher! We’re looking for women and men to be ushers at all three services. It’s a super easy way to actively participate in worship. You’ve seen what ushers do – hand out bulletins, manage the attendance pads, collect the offering, and help with communion. Simple, but greatly needed for worship to run smoothly. With our cadre of experienced ushers, on-the-job training will get you up to speed in no time. The time obligation is light. Whatever worship service you already attend, simply come 20 minutes early and stay for 10 minutes after. For each of the traditional 8:15 and 11:15 services, three teams rotate every three months. For the 9:45 Contemporary service, ushers sign up for services for the upcoming three months. To get started, please contact Head Usher Phil Guth at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 571-216-3814. He’ll match you up with a team, and you’ll be an usher in no time!
- Greeters Needed: Whether you’re a long-time member or a first-time visitor, when you walk in to St. Matthew’s you are welcomed with a “Good Morning!” from a smiling greeter. This important ministry needs more volunteers. If you’d like to help our church maintain its tradition of being a Certified Welcoming Congregation, please contact Rev. Nickie Howard
- Scripture Readers & Communion Servers Needed: We are looking for people of all ages to help lead us in worship as Scripture Readers and Communion Servers! Look for sign up sheets at the Welcome Center near the church entrance, or go directly to the online sign up links: Communion Sign Up or Scripture Readers Sign Up
