Join this new class for meaningful conversation and reflection on faith learnings from contemporary voices. Gain a new perspective on God, religion, Jesus, salvation, the cross, the Bible and the church. This class has rotating leadership.

The Way Forward Working Group

The Way Forward Working Group is open to all who are interested in learning about inclusion in The United Methodist Church and at St. Matthew’s. Through discussion of current events, UMC doctrine, and the Bible, this group seeks to make St. Matthew’s a welcome place for all people. 

 

Growing in Faith

Location – Room 305, Adult Wing

This group of senior adults enjoy fellowship, inspiration and challenging study. Studies and discussion often focus on relevant lessons for today. All are welcome to join this small group study.

Hands Helping Humanity

Hands Helping Humanity creates charity items from yarn that is donated to the church. The class is geared to adults who want to use their yarn related craft talents to produce items to be donated to charity. They will be focusing on producing winter outerwear, hats, mittens, scarves to be donated to local charities in Northern Virginia.

 

Women of Faith

Women of Faith is a group of supportive women who discuss their lives and shared experiences. All women are welcome to join this faith nurturing Sunday School Class. 

 

The Path Class

Location – Room 306, Adult Wing

Those interested in membership and learning more about St. Matthew’s are invited to join Pastors Neil Hough and Nickie Moreno Howard for this six week study to learn about St. Matthew’s UMC, The United Methodist Church, and living as disciples of Christ. This group meets 2-3 times yearly. Please sign up for this group by contacting Pastor Nickie.

Reckless Love

Parents of Children and Youth

“Parents of Children and Youth”  is geared towards parents, but we welcome anyone who’s interested in learning and growing! This class is generally a mix between Bible study and discussions around parenting children and balancing life.
