Afternoon Assistant Teachers for remainder of 22-23SY. St. Matthew’s UMC Weekday School is looking for experienced, energetic, creative and supportive Assistant Teacher for a 5-day work schedule. Candidates must be fluent in English, both written and oral. Experience working with small children is required. Education in Early Childhood Development or/related field preferred. Q: Does St. Matthew's WDS teach religion?
A: We currently do not have a religious curriculum. We are located in a Christian environment and are considered an outreach of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. We are a Non-Denominational Program. The center is interracial, interfaith and enrolls children from many ethnic backgrounds. We operate under the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We offer Chapel Time as an enrichment program.
Q: What is Chapel Time?
A: Students are offered Chapel Time once a week. This is a 15-20 minute session that takes place outside of the classroom. Students sing a song like "This little Light of Mine" and are told a Bible story by the SMUMC Director of Children's Ministry, or one of SMUMC Pastoral Staff.
Q: When is my tuition due?
A: Tuition is due on the 1st of each month with the exception of the September payment being due on or before the first day of school. ACH payment authorization form must be completed to submit monthly tuition. After the 10th of the month you are assessed a late fee of $35.
Q: Why do I pay May tuition for the school term starting in September before the start of the school year?
A: St. Matthew's WDS is a non-profit center. We depend on your May tuition for the upcoming school year to assist us with start-up costs associated with the beginning of the year.
Q: Do you offer extended day care?
A: The Weekday School has extended day options. Please inquire directly with the office.
Q: Do you offer transportation?
A: The Weekday School does not offer transportation to or from the school. Transportation for your child is solely your responsibility.
Q: Does my two or three year old have to be potty trained?
A: No, we meet children at their individual level. We support 2 & 3 year old’s when they show interest in the using the potty.
