Modern Worship – What is it?

Modern worship at St. Matthew’s embraces the great traditions of the church – the prayer of confession, prayers of the people, songs, hymns, a sermon, weekly communion – but re-imagines them for a 21st century people seeking new sounds and current language. Most of the songs we play were written in the last five years, and all the hymns we do have been arranged for a full band. Like all of our services at St. Matthew’s, we come with the expectation that God’s presence will abound. When we worship, we believe that the risen Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit is in our midst, binding us together in love as a community. During the service, you will see that some of us clap, some of us lift our hands, and some of us worship passionately without any external signs. Join us on Sundays at 9:45 AM!
