Welcoming Ministries
Nothing says warmth and love more than a friendly face and a smile. The Welcoming Ministry provides teams of greeters for worship services to help you feel right at home as soon as you enter the church doors. Our greeters or ushers will direct you to the Information Table in the Narthex where another member can assist you with locating appropriate Sunday School classes or provide information about our many ministries and programs for all ages.
We invite you to join us for coffee and fellowship in the Commons after services. We provide members permanent name tags that we wear during Sunday activities and services to help members, new members and visitors get to know one another.
If you provide us with contact information on a Connection Card (found in your worship bulletin) when you visit, you will receive a welcome letter with a small gift from one of our pastors. You also will receive an e-mail from our Director of Welcoming Ministries with more detailed information about our programs and ministries as well as a telephone call during the week to personally greet you and see if you have any questions.
If you would like to volunteer to assist with any of our welcoming ministries, or are new to the area and like more information about St. Matthew's and its programs, please contact the church office or Holly Markwalter at hmarkwalter@stmatthewsumc.org.
