Red Cross Blood Drive April 7th
Bi-Monthly Red Cross Blood Drive at St. Matthew’s
On Tuesday, April 7th, the Red Cross will be holding a blood drive from Noon to 5:00 PM in classroom 302, in the adult wing of the church. You can assist in multiple ways. We need a few people to take a shift in Registration, to help check in our guests, and in Canteen, to help ensure they recover well with snacks and juice, and of course we need blood donors. To volunteer in Registration or the Canteen, see our Signup Genius. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090C4AA5AF2BA57-61495297-stmatthews To make an appointment, please scan the below QR code and enter code STMUMC, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
Donors should complete Red Cross Rapidpass the morning of their appointment and bring a screenshot or printout of the QR code at the end of the Rapidpass process. For Rapidpass, use zip code 22003.
Shift Details:
Volunteers only need to sign-up for 1 3-hour shift. You will be given hands-on training, but all you really need is a warm smile and willingness. You can sit down for each job.
Registration volunteers scan an ID and touch a screen a couple times to sign in our guests. Then hand them a hand-written name tag and offer them a bottle of water.
Canteen volunteers welcome donors to partake of our available snacks, juice boxes and water to get sugar levels back up before donors depart.
Shifts will be
11:30am -2:30pm and 2:15-5:15pm for Registration and
Noon - 3:00pm and 2:45pm -5:45pm for the Canteen.
Creating a warm and welcoming environment will help our donors relax and have a good donation experience. That’s what it’s all about!
