Ken Jackson Food Closet
In partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, we need help with our food ministry that offers food to people in the community on Monday evenings and Friday mornings. We believe that no one deserves to be hungry.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
English Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL (English, for speakers of other languages) is looking for several people to help in different capacities. It is a rewarding experience, knowing you are helping a motivated English student to better integrate into our local community.
Fall term: September-November and Winter term: January-March. Each term is 10 weeks long. Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, 7-9 p.m., dates vary by term. There are 4 skill levels of language learners from beginner to advanced, plus conversation class. Classes are held in the adult wing of the basement. Enter at door 3. Red Cross Blood Drive
On Tuesday, October 6th, the Red Cross will be holding our next blood drive from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. in room 302, in the adult wing of the church. We need a few people to help with Registration and in the Canteen and, of course, we need blood donors. To volunteer at the event please sign up.
To make a blood donation appointment click the link above please and enter code STMUMC or call 1-800-733-2767. Donors will receive free Red Cross swag. Donors should complete Red Cross Rapidpass the morning of their appointment and bring a screenshot or printout of the QR code at the end of the Rapidpass process. For Rapidpass, use zip code 22003.
