Ken Jackson Food Closet

In partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, we need help with our food ministry that offers food to people in the community on Monday evenings and Friday mornings. We believe that no one deserves to be hungry.

English Speakers of Other Languages

ESOL (English, for speakers of other languages) is looking for several people to help in different capacities. It is a rewarding experience, knowing you are helping a motivated English student to better integrate into our local community. Please contact Louisa Gerber at ESOL@stmatthewsumc.org. 

Red Cross Blood Drive

On Tuesday, June 2, the Red Cross will be holding our next blood drive from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. in room 302, in the adult wing of the church.  We need a few people to help with Registration and in the Canteen and, of course, we need blood donors. To volunteer at the event please sign up at

Donors will receive free Red Cross swag. Donors should complete Red Cross Rapidpass the morning of their appointment and bring a screenshot or printout of the QR code at the end of the Rapidpass process.
